Former Argentine President Nestor Kirchner, husband of current Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, passed away today at a hospital in the southern Argentine of El Calafate.

President Kirchner became President of Argentina during a period of difficult financial crisis in Argentina. As part of his economic redevelopment of the nation, he cut off relations with International Monetary Fund among much criticism. His foreign policies shifted away from much support for the United States and developed more relations with other Latin American countries, particularly those who are part of Mercado Comun del Sur (MERCOSUR) Members of the opposition to Kirchner have urged support for President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner during this time of personal and national grief.

Argentina will hold a state funeral to honor President Kirchner, it is expected that both Kirchner supporters and non-supporters will attend to pay their respect to their president.

  1. if there’s a man in world, with strengths and weaknesses, that could take Argentina out of hell in 2001, if there was someone who could defend Argentina from destructuring policy domain, subjugation and economic suppression by multinational organizations, it was Nestor Kirchner

ideology was and will be stronger than that globalized capitalist system, which violates certain countries to stay in a welfare economic bubble. little by little those bubbles are exploding

    Rest In Peace

    your flag will remain high
